PRIVACY POLICY

Who we are

Our primary website address is: https://starprosper.com. Anytime you see a site with “starprosper.com” in the address bar it will follow our policies as outlined below.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We do not have any contact forms on our main website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

We may also employ third party tracking services that place cookies (information) on your computer in order to serve relevant ads to you on that third-party ad platform (i.e. Goolge, Facebook and others). You can opt-out of their delivery of ads to you on their specific platforms, as that is not something that we control nor do we store the actual information about your visit with those cookies/pixels.

We may also collect geo-location information, IP address, and any requested information when specifically opt-ing in to receive specific information from us. When doing so you may receive marketing promotions related to that opted-in information, however general marketing “email list” or other marketing efforts like third-party ads will require additional consent checkbox that you will have to agree to in order to receive those valuable promotions or alternative free material.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We may use third party analytics services that track information about your device’s location, IP address, and time spent on pages or what pages you visit.
How Can I Opt-Out of Tracking or Information Storage Just For Visiting Your Site(s)?

The easiest way is to use “private” or “incognito” browser windows when using our site(s), this will anonymize your visit(s) and not allow us to track or store any information about your visit, such as IP address, geo-location, cookie storage, third-party ad tracking pixels and more. Of course if you submit information to us during one of these “private” browsing sessions that will be stored in our systems and used per the consent you’ve agreed to upon submission.

Who we share your data with

We may share your data with third party advertisers in order to serve relevant ads to you and other visitors like you. This helps to ensure two things, first and foremost it provides a better experience to you if you are seeing our ads on a specific platform and it helps keep ad costs lower for us a business, allowing us to spend more resources on providing a valuable service to you.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Understand if you ask us to delete your data in our systems your free or paid access to content may stop working. Email addresses are a common way of creating a username, if you request that we delete it, your access may stop working.

You can opt-out of any marketing emails by using the standard unsubscribe at the bottom or by contacting us and requesting we unsubscribe you. This will effectively require that we update any third part marketing platforms and unsubscribe you from those as well. Please understand, this may take some time to update all relevant areas before you stop receiving promotional material (emails, ads, etc). Please allow up to 2 weeks for all removal of your data from marketing efforts.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We may upload your data to third party advertisers. If you unsubscribe from our marketing via email or request deletion of your information we will remove you from those efforts as soon as possible.

We use only trusted and industry compliant services for storing your information, including GDPR compliant services.
